Irish Jewellery & Meaning

What does the Claddagh ring represent?
The Claddagh ring is a treasured Irish symbol of love, loyalty and friendship. The two hands stand for friendship, the heart for love, and the crown for loyalty. Worn for generations, it is given as a token of devotion between friends, sweethearts and family.
What is the source of inspiration for Irish jewellery?
Our designs draw on timeless Celtic heritage: Claddagh and Celtic rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets, each rooted in centuries of Irish craft. Many handcrafted pieces can be made to order, with a choice of 14-karat yellow or white gold, 18-karat gold and platinum. Every order is crafted and shipped directly from Ireland.
Why buy Irish jewellery?
Because it means something. A Sheodra piece is an authentic, meaningful gift for yourself or someone you love: a little piece of Ireland that celebrates your Irish roots and your connection to Celtic heritage. It is a keepsake, not just an accessory.
What is the most famous Irish jewellery design?
The Claddagh ring is the best known of all. Alongside it sit other beloved Irish and Celtic designs such as the Shamrock and the Trinity (Celtic) knot, each carrying its own meaning and centuries of tradition.

Quality & Hallmarking

How do I know if the metal is genuine gold or silver?
Look for an authentic hallmark stamp. Every piece of Sheodra jewellery is independently tested and hallmarked at the Dublin Assay Office, your guarantee of genuine precious metal and the quality you have paid for.
Does the company offer free resizing of rings?
Our gold and platinum rings can be resized one size up or down. If you are unsure of your size before ordering, get in touch and we will help you choose with confidence. For details of any charges, please contact us.
Does the company offer a Lifetime Warranty for the gems?
Every piece is carefully inspected and held to strict quality standards before it reaches you. If you ever find a fault that occurred during manufacturing, our experts will repair or replace the item at no cost to you. Please note we cannot cover damage caused by misuse, loss, or work carried out by other jewellers. For the full warranty terms, contact us.

Customisation & Special Requests

Can I order a custom-made Irish jewellery design?
Yes. You can choose the design and the materials to suit your own taste and style. We specialise in handcrafted Irish jewellery: rings, pendants, earrings and bracelets. Pick one of our enchanting designs, or contact us if you have something specific in mind.
Can I choose the type of metal and stone for my design?
Absolutely. On many pieces you can select your metal, from 14-karat yellow or white gold to 18-karat gold and platinum, as well as your preferred gemstone, so your jewellery is exactly as you imagined it.
Can I engrave a name in Ogham on my design?
Yes. Ogham engraving, the ancient Irish script, is a beautiful way to personalise a piece and is available on many of our designs. The space available depends on the piece you choose, so let us know what you have in mind and we will guide you.
Can I request changes or additions to jewellery already made?
It depends on the piece. As specialists in handcrafted jewellery, we generally do not recommend altering a finished piece, as it can affect the strength and shape of the design. The best approach is to contact us first so we can advise on what is possible for your specific item.
How can I make a special request?
Simply head to our Contact page and tell us what you are looking for. Our team is happy to answer your questions, make expert recommendations and help bring your idea to life. Share as much detail as you can and we will take it from there.

Shipping & Returns

Can I order Irish jewellery from outside Ireland?
Yes. We deliver to customers all over the world. Every order is shipped directly from Ireland with full tracking, so you can follow your piece from our workshop to your door.
Does the company offer worldwide shipping?
We do. All orders ship from Ireland by tracked courier, with priority delivery taking roughly 10 working days to the US, Canada and Europe. Shipping is free once your order passes your local free-shipping threshold (for example, €140 in your region).
Is it possible to return my order without charges?
Yes. We offer 30-day returns on unworn items in their original packaging. If a piece arrives faulty or damaged, we cover the return cost. For a change of mind, the return postage is arranged by you. Full details are on our Returns Policy page.
If I return my order, will the company refund my money?
Yes. Eligible, unworn pieces returned within 30 days in their original condition qualify for a full refund. Once we receive and check your return, we process the refund as quickly as we can. See our Returns Policy for the finer details.
