The hands, as well as the loyalty crown and heart of undying love, are all forged in pure sterling silver, hallmarked in the Dublin Assay Office in Dublin Castle, Ireland. The central heart motif is composed of an authentic heart-shaped Connemara marble stone set into a polished silver frame.

Celtic Irish Aesthetic, Tradition and Design
Green Connemara marble is found exclusively on Ireland's remote western shoreline, not far from the town of Claddagh now located within the boundaries of Galway City. Richard Joyce left Ireland in 1675 to better his prospects in the faraway British West Indies. Barbary pirates intercepted his vessel en route, and he was sold into servitude in North Africa. The determined Irishman spent the next 14 years mastering his trade as a goldsmith and jeweler, dreaming of his return to Ireland and his childhood sweetheart. In 1689, his vision became reality, and he created the first Irish Claddagh ring for his future wife, who remained loyal to him during their long years apart.
